Spreading Holiday Cheer: Celebrating the Spirit of Generosity This Christmas
It's the season of giving ...
and the festive spirit has been in full swing as ng homes staff became 'Santa's helpers' collecting and distributing donations in the run-up to the Christmas season.
As part of our annual initiative to support tenants and residents in North Glasgow over the festive period, ng homes staff gathered festive donations of essential items, food items, toys and more, all thanks to the generosity of community partners.
It is truly heartwarming to see the generosity following another tricky year where costs remained high for many. The donations collected will be distributed throughout the local community in time for the holiday season.
ng homes Chair Catherine Rossine said, “A big thank you goes out to our community partners, including local businesses, organisations, and individuals who have donated toys, clothes, food and more this year. We are incredibly grateful for their support which allows us to help even more people in our local community”.
It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas...
Nothing like a bit of caroling to get into the festive spirit! We welcomed several school choirs along including to the Christmas tree on Saracen Street and to a festive brunch held on 16 December at Saracen House.
The Association also stopped by Saracen Primary School this week to see staff and students off on a special trip to see a pantomime as part of new partnership supporting efforts to benefit school children and the wider community and Glasgow's Spirit of Christmas as part of staff fundraising efforts from Christmas Jumper Day.
ng homes have gathered together a list full of information including organisations who will be offering support covering Christmas and the New Year period as well as helpful information on changes to collection dates for household bins or payment dates for benefits.
