Festive donations help bring joy to North Glasgow
The festive spirit is in full swing in North Glasgow as dozens of donations from supportive community partners have been collected by delighted ng homes staff last week.
As part of their annual initiative to provide support to residents over the festive period, ng homes staff were overwhelmed with the generosity of local community partners when they were invited to collect donations of toys and other essentials last week. These items will be made available to area families in need in time for the holidays.
The generosity of local partners was especially heart-warming coming at a time when costs are high for many. The donations collected will be distributed throughout the local community, not only making kids happy but also helping to ease some of the financial pressure that families often feel during the holiday season.
Community Development Team Leader Paula Mailey said, “A big thank you goes out to our community partners, including local businesses, organisations, and individuals who have donated toys, clothes, food and more this year. We are incredibly grateful for their support which allows us to help even more people in our local community.
The cost-of-living crisis has made times tough for everyone and the generosity shown this year really makes a positive difference.”
Following on from their visits, ng homes staff will be opening the doors of Saracen House this Tuesday 19 December from 11am-3pm for a Community Information and Advice Day. The event aims to connect local residents with essential support and resources during the festive period. Those attending will be able to discover more about what’s happening over the festive period, take advantage of one-on-one sessions with energy advisors, learn more about what will be open over the coming weeks as well as other initiatives providing support during the festive period.
