ng homes Housing Trainees celebrate CIH qualification success
Three ng homes Housing Trainees recently achieved their Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) Level 2 Certificate in Housing Practice.
Trainees Robyn Somerville, Alan Nicolson and Lucy Brown are now in their second year with the Association. As part of their training, the apprentices spend time in all of the departments and get the opportunity to gain valuable experience, skills and knowledge working with a variety of staff teams across the business.
The qualification was completed through SHARE, who provided the trainees with great support throughout.
All three were delighted to receive their CIH Certificates and are now studying for the SVQ Level 2 in Housing qualification.
Robyn said “It’s been a great experience for me. I have been able to work with knowledgeable housing professionals, gain hands on experience in a number of areas and understand the importance of providing excellent customer service.”
Alan added “I am thoroughly enjoying my time here at the Association. The traineeship has been a great opportunity for me to develop my skills and knowledge. I have learned so much about the housing sector and the important work that ng homes does.”
Lucy said, “The training has been excellent, I have learned a great deal about the Association and the housing sector in general. I have received great support from my colleagues and have been able to develop my skills and confidence throughout my time at ng homes.”
We also have another trainee in her first year with the Association. D'Arcy Bolam is currently studying for her SVQ Level 2 in Housing and after completion will then undertake the CIH Level 2 Certificate in Housing Practice.
The Association is delighted with the progress that all of our young trainees are making.
We are dedicated to providing opportunities for local people and our Housing trainee/apprenticeship scheme is just one part of this. We also offer a range of temporary and full-time employment opportunities at both ng homes and our subsidiary ng2.
John Thorburn, ng homes Chairperson commented “It is wonderful to see our Trainees developing and on behalf of the Board I would like to congratulate them all on their progress.
Our traineeship’s provide an excellent opportunity for young people to learn and develop their skills to be able to make a real difference to the community. It is great for the Association and the housing sector in general to see talented young people interested in housing as a career.”
We will provide all the support required for the young trainees to make the most of their housing apprenticeship and want to say a big well done to all of our trainees for their progress so far.
