Macmillan @ Glasgow Libraries launches new cancer support phone service
Going through cancer can be a lonely and isolating experience at any time, and the pandemic has made life even more difficult. In response to Covid-19, Macmillan @ Glasgow Libraries has created a new telephone support and information service for people living with or beyond cancer, their family, friends or carers, and people who are bereaved.
Launched this week, a team of specially-trained volunteers can offer emotional, practical and financial support, as well as a listening ear during this challenging time. Free, expert and easy to understand information about cancer is also available, to help answer any questions, and the team can make referrals into Macmillan’s partner organisations for further support.
