ng homes helps empower students at All Saints Secondary’s latest Careers Day

ng homes was on the road again as part of Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) careers days in North Glasgow.

Project Manager Greg Cann, Housing Officer Catherine Mather and Housing Assistant Lucy Brown were present at the October Careers Carousel at All Saints Secondary, Glasgow to promote ng homes as an employer and the housing sector as a rewarding career.

Filled with lively chatter, ng homes staff spoke about their own backgrounds and the routes they took into housing. The session also offered students a chance to gain understanding about the many careers within housing.

ng homes Project Manager Greg Cann praised the event saying "It is always good to get out into the community and meet local young people and their teachers. These careers carousels are a fantastic way for us to educate and inform youngsters of the role of Housing Associations and what we as a local employer offer."

Housing Officer Catherine Mather added: "I enjoyed talking with the students - it was nice to discuss the different job roles within ng homes."

The events aim to expand students' horizons and provide them with valuable insight into options after leaving school and are part of an ongoing project supporting local High Schools with employability initiatives in partnership with the DYW, Glasgow City Council's youth employability project.

Students had the opportunity to engage with employers, learning about potential career paths, future education options and get a chance to ask questions of those working within each of the sectors present.
